Swiss Cheese

A week walking the confines of Zermatt in Switzerland produced a couple of welcome sightings, with Lammergeier and Wallcreeper being new. In addition a few other padders, with Golden Eagle, Honey Buzzard, Red Kite, Black Kite, Alpine Chough, Nutcracker, Red-backed Shrike, Western Bonelli's Warbler, Wood Warbler, Crested Tit and Willow Tit adding to the excitement.

Oh, and the views...

"Lineatus" Black Kite

An abundant winter visitor to Hong Kong ~ this species was less tricky to track down than the Norfolk bird a few years back, with the kites utilising the hotel roof to rest inbetween scavenging. Photographically I messed up with this form of black kite, missing the bright sunny days to capture some images of them patrolling the busy waterway that separates Kowloon from Hong Kong Island. The kites would frequently take food items off the water surface, almost osprey-like!
