Wow, I saw Dinosaur JR twice in Newcastle at the Riverside (around 20 odd years ago though!), you're right J Mascis is looking a bit chubby these days though............
Whilst I was in Newcastle I also saw the Pixies/Mudhoney/Sonic Youth/Nirvana/Spaceman 3/ Loop/My Bloody Valentine/Soundgarden/Faith No More............heady days.

Really miss the Riverside - saw some great bands there too... babes in toyland, belly, cranberries, buzzcocks.... and david bowie!!!
